Execution Requirements

The following mechanism shall be executed to put the university’s strategic plan into effect, taking into account the mechanisms included in it. The following mechanisms are basic requirement:

1- Forming a supreme steering committee for supervising plan execution and taking needed decisions to overcome the plan obstacles.

2- Establishing an executive office for the strategic plan that follows up plan execution, studding plan execution obstacles and coordinating between the university’s units such as Vices-Rectorate, Colleges, Supportive Deanships and concerned administrations.  

3- Appointing a highly reputed and experienced faculty member to direct the executive office.

4- Appointing experts for the strategic plan, in order to follow-up the plan’s reports             preparing and providing technical support for the university’s units. Experts shall have team spirit.

5- Appointing a number of leaderships to operate the strategic plan programs. An administrator shall direct each of the plan’s ten objectives. Further, a new organization may be established to marge some initiatives from deferent objectives.   

6- Forming team to prepare strategic plans for the university’s colleges and its other units. The team tasks are creating units’ plans, revising such plans with the executive office and ensuring harmonization of the plan with the university’s strategic plan, along with following-up the execution of the initiatives, strategic objectives and performance indicators.

7- Founding a unit or coordinator for the strategic plan in all the university’s units (Deanship, Directorate….). The unit is tasked to prepare a unit’s plan that suits the strategic plan, supervising such plans and coordinating with the strategy office and other administrations (corporates) in executing the initiative for the entity it represents.

8- Supporting the educational and media camping of the strategic plan by the following:

·        Publishing the strategic plan in a bilingual book Arabic and English and distributing it to all the plan’s concerned entities (Internal and external partners).

·        Publishing periodical articles in the university’s newspaper and local newspapers. Such articles shall discuss the plan’s importance, objectives and its results.

·        Making short movie that includes the strategy and its development stages.

·        Publishing the plan summery on the university’s website.

9- Providing software that follow-up the strategic plan. These programs could include Architecture Strategy, which uses a method of balanced performance card.

10- Executing a transformation program from traditional administration into strategic one. Putting the strategic objectives and the supporting initiatives in action. The transformation program includes risk management program, and concerned parties management program and some of the training courses are as follows:

·        Risk management program: each strategic plan has risks in executing its objectives; therefore, such risks must be prefigured and handled to ensure the success of the program. Risk management includes drawing a plan that satisfy the needs and coalition building is required from the outset.

·        Concerned parties management program: it is concerned in communication transparency with all related parties. It aims to ensure obligations fulfillment, concepts and reality explanation, and technical support providing when needed.

·        Intensive training courses in change management: executing a number of training courses in change management.

11- Reviewing the plan periodically (every two years). Conducting the needed modification on the plan according to the latest developments and changing priorities.
